Romania sees a sudden increase in the work visa applications from India. In a recent interview, the Romanian ambassador in India Mr. Radu Dobre said that over 1500 visas are being issued since the last few Months in 2019 and the trend is set to continue. He described this as an explosion and the new trend nothing like what he had seen before. The quota for foreign workers in Romania saw an all-time high over the last year alone.

It is estimated that the number of Indian workers in Romania would continue further in months to come. There is plenty of worker shortage in Romania: From chefs to sous-chefs, waiters, cleaning staff, packagers, merchandise sorters, stockers, heavy machinery operators, industrial engineers, personnel for production lines, and unqualified workers in construction, agriculture, and animal husbandry are all in need of jobs. Indians in search of a better lifestyle are going to Romania leaving their families behind and such migration is only set to increase in the coming years.
